Animal food based is much higher in fat content than most plant based foods, particularly in saturated fats. Vegetables and fruits contains lots of both soluble and insoluble fibers which our body unable to digest. Fiber consumption helps pushing the waste out of our body. On the other hand, meat contains no fiber.

A study shows that vegetarians on average weight less than non vegetarians. After converting to a vegetarian diet for six months, the calorie consumption of these people dropped by almost 200 calories per day. These newly converted vegetarians lost the weight without counting carbs and feeling hungry. They lost weight simply because vegetarian diet contains less fat.

5. A better deal on life insurance
In order to drive a vegetarian friendly initiative, a non-profit Pet Insurer, Animal Friends Insurance based in the UK have partnered with a mutual society, Liverpool Victoria to offer 6% premium discount to vegetarians. This is based on the belief that vegetarians are less risky because they are healthier and greater chance to live longer.
