The Truth Behind Controversial Coconut Oil By Thomas Lindblom
The Truth Behind Controversial Coconut Oil By Thomas Lindblom
Despite the fact that we have always considered it high in fat, people who consume coconut oil, such as those who live in the South Pacific, have less incidences of heart disease than others who do not consume coconut oil. Could it be that coconut oil is actually good for you?
For thousands of years, the coconut tree has been considered to be the Tree of Life. It has been regarded for its medicinal qualities by people in India, Africa and South America. Coconut trees grow in tropical areas around the world and coconut oil and milk is consumed by people who live in those areas. They have significantly less heart disease than those who live in climates where coconut trees are not as common.
It is no secret that people who live in tropical climates where coconut oil and coconut is consumed have the lowest incidents of heart disease in the world. This is despite the fact that in some countries, such as the United States, coconut oil is often thought to be high in saturated fat and is considered to be not good for you at all.
So why is it that people who consume something that was once thought to be too high in fat to eat have less heart disease than people who are careful about their fat intake? One of the reasons may lie within the secret of the coconut oil. The medium-chain triglycerides that are contained in coconut oil are the same as those that are contained in breast milk. In addition to actually keeping your heart healthy, coconut oil and milk is known to stave off infection and actually may be used to prevent disease, such as cancer. It has properties that boost up your immune system and make it easier for you to stay healthy.
Because it fights off germs naturally and also enhances the immune system, coconut oil is added to infant formula to better fortify infants against disease. By consuming coconut oil, you can not only keep your immune system boosted and protect your heart; you can also protect yourself against illnesses such as hepatitis. Coconut oil not only seems to have a power to boost the immune system and help the heart, but it also works well when fighting off viruses.
Some of the diseases that are held at bay due to the healing powers of coconut oil include:
? Influenza
? Pneumonia
? Common cold
? Sinus Infections
? Measles
? Herpes
? Hepatitis
? Candidiasis
? Mononucleosis
? Ringworm
Clearly, coconut oil has healing powers that few in the west understand. As more people begin to look for alternative medicines and a healthier diet, those foods that were once considered to be dangerous to our health, such as coconut oil, are now looked upon as a virtual lifesaver. Once considered to be diet sabotage, coconut oil is now considered to be one product that can keep you healthy.
It is important to keep in mind however that coconut oil is available in several different types and grades depending upon where the coconut tree was planted and the method of production. Coconut oil itself is available in several different forms including:
? Extra virgin coconut oil
? Refined coconut oil
? Pure coconut oil
? Raw coconut oil
? Organic coconut oil
? Expeller pressed coconut oil
? Col pressed coconut oil
? Coconut oil in capsules
If you want to keep your heart healthy and stay in good shape, add coconut oil to your diet. Besides keeping at bay a host of ailments, coconut oil also stimulates metabolism, increases energy levels, controls diabetes and improves the functioning of thyroid gland.
